Victoria Alegria Jimenez Martinez 2023
Experimental Geophysics

Dr. Victoria Jiménez

My research work focuses on the study of fluid transport and storage properties of the subsurface, especially in geothermal reservoirs. One of the principal aspects of my work consists in evaluating changes in hydraulic properties before and after hydraulic-stimulation treatments, i.e., hydro-fracturing or hydro-shearing, using analytical solutions and numerical models of pressure diffusion in a porous medium after a periodic pressure injection. Another aspect of my work is based on the analysis of fluid waves in permeable and impermeable boreholes with the aim of constraining hydraulic properties of the surrounding rock.
