Research interests
My research interests are as follows:
- Petrology and geochemistry of granitoids
- Geochronology and isotopic geology
- Timing of events and continental crust evolution
- Lithospheric dynamics
My research project is associated to an Alexander von Humboldt fellowship and it is focussed on determine the mechanisms of zircon survival in the mantle and mantle-derived rocks. To establish conditions of zircon stability, I aim to carry out experiments at high T and P in polyphase and partially molten silica undersaturated systems.
The experimental results will provide a better understanding of zircon systematics in mafic and ultramafic systems and a valuable information about crustal growth and recycling mechanism.
