Stations
The seismological network of the Ruhr-University is composed of 13 stations. Two broad-band stations (BUG und IBBN) are part of the German Regional Seismological Network (GRSN). These are located near the Ruhr-University in an old mine shaft of mine Klosterbusch and at Ibbenbüren respectively. Additional stations are in Rheinberg (BRHE) and Hünxe (ZERL, western Ruhr area), at Haltern (BAVN, northern Ruhr area) and Hamm (HMES, eastern Ruhr area). Two short-period stations (IBBE and IBBS) supplement the station at Ibbenbüren. In the vicinity of the Ruhr-University are 5 additional short-period stations (BTEZ, BSHA, BKLB, BHOF, BULI) installed. These are used for locating events throughout the Ruhr Coal Mining district. The recorded seismic signals are digitised at the stations and transmitted to the Ruhr-University Bochum in near real-time.
