Ultrasound benchtop unit

Two identical sensors, one acting as source and one as receiver, are pressed to the opposite end faces of the samples using the pneumatic device. The applied force is necessary to provide constant coupling between sensors and sample, and can be kept constant at different values. A 100 to 400V trigger signal with controlled central frequency activates the source to emit a mechanical pulse into the rock sample. The receiver converts the transmitted elastic wave into an electrical signal, which is then digitally recorded.
